PowerBASIC on the Net
http://www.powerbasic.com/
The official PowerBASIC support site. Includes news and information about their latest products, downloadable demos, online versions of their newsletter, downloadable public domain source code and much more. I am especially proud of the site because it's maintained by Ann. Although I try to go in and change things now and again just to get on her nerves.
PowerBASIC Web BBS
http://www.powerbasic.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi
If you are looking for source code, programming tips, source code, answers to questions, and source code... This is the place. You can post messages, or just browse if you're shy. You'll find source code for all versions of PowerBASIC including PB/DOS, PB/CC, and PB/DLL. Even if you're a QuickBasic/QBASIC user, you'll find lots of useful stuff.
The Official All Basic Code Page
http://www.allbasiccode.com/
Even though ABC supports many dialects of Basic, I list it here because of the large number of PowerBASIC examples which it has, and the author himself uses PowerBASIC. I highly recommend that you make this a permanent bookmark in your browser and visit often.
Perfect Sync Software
http://PerfectSync.com/
If you're creating console apps with PB/CC then you need Console Tools. This is just the coolest addon with more features than you can shake a stick at.
Tsunami Record Manager
http://www.trm-ug.com/
Freeware database tool compatible with many programming languages (not just PowerBASIC), but written in PowerBASIC for that "extra" touch.
PBSound (English Version)
http://www.snafu.de/~pbsound/english
Home of the PBSound library author. PBSound is a comprehensive library for PowerBASIC programmers to access their SoundBlaster or compatible sound cards. His PowerBASIC FAQ claims bugs which aren't real bugs, but other than that it's a great page. A german version is also available.
Information Management Systems
http://www.infoms.com/
If you are looking for an addon tool for any PowerBASIC compiler, this is the second place to look (after you check the PowerBASIC site first, of course <smile>). Everything from GUI designers to database libraries and general programming toolkits. And if you are not subscribing to BasicAlly Speaking, you just have to be shot.
MarshallSoft Computing
http://www.marshallsoft.com/
Mike Marshall, a very good friend and extremely talented programmer, has written the best communications library I have ever had the pleasure of using. His attention to detail and willingness to listen to suggestions has made the PowerBASIC versions of his libraries my most favorite toys.
PBWINADP
http://www.jcfuller.com/
James C. Fuller is a very talented PowerBASIC programmer and has created the PBWINADP product for PowerBASIC. It allows PB/DLL programmers to create stand-alone applications much like VB. It has some very unique features. If you are a PB/DLL programmer, this site is a must bookmark.
Robert Seidel's PowerBASIC Page
http://www.uni-jena.de/~p6sepa/pbpage.htm
If you are interested in graphics programming for PB/DOS, this is a good place to find source code. Including a great freeware screen 13 library.
Books by J.C. Sprott
http://sprott.physics.wisc.edu/pubs.htm
J.C. Sprott wrote an excellent book called Strange Attractors: Creating Patterns in Chaos which unfortunately is no longer in print. However you can download the complete text of the book from his web site. The book is about fractals and fractal patterns and includes a lot of PowerBASIC source code (he highly recommends PowerBASIC in the book).
Mark Cox
http://www.awe.com/~mark/
Mark Cox wrote the excellent MODOBJ which allows a programmer to play .MOD files on their SoundBlaster (and compatible) sound cards. He did a version for PB/DOS called PBMOD which is now freeware.
Jan Axelson's Lakeview Research
http://www.lvr.com/
If anyone knows *everything* there is to know about serial communications and parallel port programming, it's Jan. Her books include lots of PowerBASIC source code for transferring files from one PC to another and lots more stuff.
Don Dickinson
http://dickinson.basicguru.com/
Don publishes quite a bit of shareware (written in PowerBASIC), but he also includes some really good PB/DLL and PB/CC source code. If you are interested in Windows programming with PowerBASIC, this is a must stop.
JazzAge Software
http://www.jazzagesoft.com/
Creator's of the JAZZAge toolkit that allows PB/DLL and PB/CC programs to access ActiveX controls. Pretty cool.
